Full descriptionEscape the crowds and journey into the heart of the island with us! Our Old Villages Tour is a curated experience designed to show you the Thassos of legends, traditions, and untouched nature.

We begin in Theologos, the island’s historic capital. Marvel at the unique architecture where white marble meets grey slate. A short, easy walk leads us to Kefalogourna, a hidden gem of twin waterfalls and emerald ponds—a true oasis of coolness. Here, you can feed the local animals and see the 19th-century mansions, including the home of one of the leades of the 1821 Greek Revolution.

During our journey through the historic paths of Thassos, we make a captivating stop at the Crown of Limenaria. Each man-sized stone is intricately engraved with one of the twelve signs of the Zodiac, arranged in a perfect circle that echoes ancient celestial calendars.

Next, we climb to Kastro, the highest settlement on Thassos. Built of stone and wood, it offers the most spectacular panoramic views of the sea. At the ancient village square, dating back 600 years, we’ll take a break to enjoy traditional yogurt with Thassian honey. Get ready for some fun as we challenge you with local brain-teasers and riddles that will keep you guessing!

Our final stop is the preserved village of Sotiros. Nestled on the mountain slope, it features a natural spring right next to the square. This is where we dive into the island’s gastronomy: tasting premium olive oil, famous Throuba olives, and local Tsipouro. We conclude our day with an optional traditional meal under the thick shade of 200-year-old trees, experiencing the true meaning of Greek “filoxenia.
